Thugs of Hindosthan - review

WASTED !! If were to be asked to give a one word summary of this movie, which supposedly was to be of mammoth proportion, I would say
WASTED !!

Aamir Khan - the perfectionist is Wasted

Amitabh -  the legend is wasted

Katrina 😍😍 - gets 2 meaningless songs & equally forgettable 2 dialogues .. Wasted

Fatima Sana - gets very badly choreographed fight scenes and nonsensical tattoo. She actually ends up resembling a middle aged lady from Crime Patrol
When you try & make an epic movie but still fall back on old formula, it's an indication that you are not confident of your endeavour.
So Amitabh is Khudabaksh and there is an animated eagle to boot. Avid AB fans will recollect these from the past and I wont insult their intelligence or memory on the same
The movie lacks any substance or story. A king is cheated of his kingdom and his entire family is killed but Ramu chacha (to be read as Khudabaksh urf Azad urf Ramu) manages to save the king's daughter  ..

Now it's time for revenge and in strolls Firangi .. wonder how his parents came up with that name?  He is a bloody Gold Digger who plays both sides but his transformation from an opportunist to Desh Premi is not clear or maybe I just snoozed by the meaningless melancholy
One would have expected a lot more from an accomplished duo of Aamir and Amitabh but sadly they too are left with limited screenplay and dialogues. The best in the business, working together for the first time, I would have hoped for a Dilip Kumar v Amitabh repeat. Break your hearts and yes ... WASTED !!
Historically too it leaves a lot of question marks as hardly any stories of any pirate revolution against the British. Any attempt to even remotely talk about the film in the same breath as "Pirates of the Caribbean" would be a crime for movie buffs.

Overall I feel that this movie has come with huge expectations and the star cast but sadly it's a grand waste of time and good money.
